Louis Dreyfus Commodities is actively involved in merchandising rice on a global basis and
originates paddy, brown and milled rice from the United States, Europe, Asia and South America. The
company’s ability to originate rice from around the world, combined with its ocean freight
capabilities, provides a vehicle to service the global rice market with competitively priced
quality products and timely service.
LDCommodities is unique in its ability to offer a full suite of comprehensive risk management
products to customers, including products to manage commodity price and volume risks.
Rice activities are supported from major offices in Beijing, Buenos Aires, Cordova, Delhi,
Geneva, Paris, São Paulo, Singapore and Wilton.
LDCommodities has an origination presence throughout the Mississippi Delta. It also
originates high-quality Thai, Vietnamese, Pakistani and Chinese milled rice for consumer markets
within Asia and for export, and originates rice for distribution within, and export from, the
Mercosur. The company services customers in the Middle East, Africa and Eastern Europe.
