Africa since 1924. The company is a market leader in Southern and Eastern Africa, specialising in
merchandising, distributing, importing and exporting of agricultural commodities (primarily grain
& oilseeds products). Most recent strategic developments include extensive rolling out of grain
storage projects across Africa, new base metals & coal trading activities on the sub-continent,
and set up of a new vegetable oil trading team in Durban.
The Louis Dreyfus Group has merchandised and traded bulk agricultural commodities in
international markets for more than 150 years. Louis Dreyfus is one of the world’s oldest and
largest merchandisers of grains and oilseeds, with companies operating in more than 50 countries,
and a consolidated Group’s turnover in excess of 20 Billion USD. Louis Dreyfus has major oilseeds
processing, sugar refining and ethanol production facilities in South America, and is developing
additional biofuels assets in the United States, Brazil and Argentina.
